Host Your Micro Wedding at Seaview

Incorporating current wedding packages:
Most people think a micro wedding means you have to start from scratch. We hear all the time, “well I’m going to have to plan a 2nd wedding now”. Many of our couples had been planning their large 200+ ballroom style wedding before Covid hit. We were able to help our couples who were looking for a more intimate wedding while incorporating their dream wedding package. It’s not starting over but deciding what are the most important aspects of your package and making them work for your micro wedding.

Budgeting:
If you already have a wedding booked, you must already have a wedding budget. With micro weddings, most expenses are going to become smaller (stationary, floral arrangements, favors, linens, catering, etc) as your guest count will become smaller. You may have acquired new expenses you weren’t expecting if you are moving to an outdoor location (tents, heaters, etc). Use those funds you are saving to help budget for those items you are looking for to host your micro wedding.

Noteworthy items:
Remember it is your wedding day. You don’t need 200 guests to make your day special. All of our couples who hosted their wedding in 2020 came back and said it was the wedding they never knew they wanted. They never envisioned their wedding any other way than in a ballroom but it ended up being exactly what they wanted in the end. The smaller, more intimate wedding.

It makes you step back and realize who is important in your life. Sometimes you can get carried away making sure you invite everyone to your wedding but at the end of the day, your closest family and friends are all that you need around you. We’ve heard how grateful couples were to have a smaller guest list as they were able to send time with their guests and also got to enjoy their company. The stress of saying hello to everyone never came as they were constantly surrounded by those important to them.

The true determination of our couples to push through because of all the love they have towards each other and in the end getting to marry one another. Even through the stress and uncertainty, we still had happy tears as couples met at the end of the aisle. That is what this is all about at the end of the day, marrying your best friend.

Future Trends:
In the future we see couples continuing to plan outside the box. Already, future couples are asking to incorporate inside/outside weddings. The ability to have both is something couples want to have as an option when booking venues. We are lucky to have the grounds of our resort which offer several options both indoor and outdoor.
Small plate cocktail hour is something that we moved towards in 2020 and received great feedback from our couples. Guests loved the presentation and felt it was a great personal touch.

We think micro weddings & elopements will become one in the same. Having a smaller wedding is a normal thing to do now. You can have a wedding on a small scale with all the bells and whistles without thinking you have to skip town and elope just the two of you. In 2020 we were positioning ourselves as a micro wedding location that allowed you to still have the full wedding weekend, after party and all!
